What a surprise to receive such a beautiful string of pearls for Christmas this year, a gift from my husband, Jim. More than 50 years ago, he presented me with an exquisite string of Mikimoto pearls that he had carefully selected. The choker style necklace was my most treasured piece of jewelry and one that I worn on our wedding day 50 years ago. Imagine my sadness when the pearls were stolen when our home was robbed in 1980. I always hoped to one day replace the necklace. The pearl necklace and earrings received for Christmas are a beautiful replacement, and I am very pleased with them. They are now my most treasured piece of jewelry, and I look forward to wearing them many times in the future.
